ABOUT SKINZ MAGAZINE:

Most fans of Ray Ferry's work on Famous Monsters of Filmland and Freaky Monsters magazines know that, before launching those titles and starting a new Ghoulden age of classic monster movie magazines, Ferry worked as a photographer specializing in portraiture, fashion and beauty images.  During the 1970s and 80s, with studios in New Jersey and New York City, Ferry captured the alluring beauty of thousands of women -- from aspiring models, dancers, actors, artists, musicians to just plain everyday ladies who were anything but ordinary. 
 
Now -- for the first time ever -- Arco Publishing is proud to present a stunning portfolio of Ferry's photographs from those years.  The collection features 84 pages of images of personal expression, experimental styles and private commission assignments.  In those years, Ferry worked primarily in black and white, crafting each negative and print by hand and the gray tone shades highlight the joy, the sensuality, the strength and the mystery of these incredible women. Most of the images are reproduced in full page spreads.  After many decades these images can now be shared thanks to employing special forensic facial reconstruction software that allowed the privacy of the subjects to be assured without compromising the artistic integrity of the images.  For the aficionado of the exquisite beauty of the female form, this will be a treasured edition.

In future issues, SKINZ magazine will feature exciting and innovative images of women from a variety of photographers and artists all over the globe.  But this issue -- Volume 1, Number 1 -- is solely devoted to the work of Ray Ferry.  For Adults Only.
